Fees and Payment Accounts
Choose or register a payment account and understand fee quotes, charges, and their limitations.
Select or Add a Payment Account
Choose the payment account eligible for this court. Check the account name, type, and any masked detail shown. An account in your firm settings may be unavailable at a particular court.
To add one during preparation, select Add a Payment Account, give it a recognizable name, and choose an available account type. Card or bank registration continues on eFileTexas's hosted payment page. Finish there and return to Referlex so the eligible account list can refresh. If the new tab is blocked, allow the requested payment-registration tab and retry that flow.
Even a filing with a zero-dollar quote may require a payment account. A waiver account is a payment classification, not an automatic decision that you qualify for a fee waiver. Use it only when appropriate to the filing and court requirements. Adding an account is not a filing submission.
Understand the Fee Display
Referlex requests a quote using the filing information and payment choice. The displayed lines can include court charges, optional services, provider charges, taxes, and processing or convenience charges when returned. Read the total alongside the individual lines.
The website's advance quote has limits. For a package with multiple documents, Review warns that the quote covers the lead document only. Some filings cannot be priced in advance, and a fee request can fail. A missing amount or a failed quote does not mean the filing is free. The clerk's assessment or the final service charge can differ from the estimate.
Review waits while a fee check is in progress. If the quote fails, the website can still offer filing once the other requirements are complete; read the error first, because the same problem can also prevent submission. A successful quote is not a clerk's acceptance of the filing.
The Quoted Fees saved in a filing record are the estimate recorded before submission. They are not a final card charge, bank statement, or transaction receipt. Payment authorization and final processing can occur at different points. Check the payment record and contact support about an unexpected charge rather than assuming a pending authorization is a duplicate completed payment.
