Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Jacqueline Franklin as judge of the 513th District Court in Harris County. The appointment was announced August 28, 2026 and takes effect September 1, 2026, for a term set to expire December 31, 2028.
The 513th District Court is one of the district courts the Legislature created effective September 1, 2026, so Franklin is its first judge.
About the judge
Jacqueline Franklin of Bellaire practiced with Fanaff, Gonzales, Baldwin & Cunningham before her appointment. She previously worked with Linda Villarreal and Associates and Fancher & Neblett, and served as an assistant district attorney for the 105th Judicial District in Nueces County. She earned her law degree at Thurgood Marshall School of Law and was president-elect of the Corpus Christi Young Lawyers Association.
