Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Donna Hansen as judge of the 523rd District Court in Montgomery County. The appointment was announced August 27, 2026 and takes effect September 1, 2026, for a term set to expire December 31, 2028.
The 523rd District Court is one of the district courts the Legislature created effective September 1, 2026, so Hansen is its first judge.
About the judge
Donna Hansen of Conroe has been a division chief and assistant district attorney in the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office, and before that an assistant district attorney in Harris County. She earned her law degree at Regent University and serves on the State Child Fatality Review Team Committee and the Children's Safe Harbor board.
